Winter’s Coming, And We Have Some Shopping Tips to Help You

With the Broken Supply Chain, Can We Expect Black Friday Deals?

It seems like it’s possible, at least going by the online ads. Although we may see deals, there may not be enough product to satisfy everyone. Still, you can check out the savings here: Black Friday 2021 Black Friday Ads and Black Friday Deals Online | BlackFriday.com

Normally, the best deals aren’t on Black Friday or even the day after Christmas, but in January. Again, it’s hard to predict how many good deals and items will be out there after the Christmas shopping rush, but let’s take a look at some money saving tips.

Are You Making a List? Checking it Twice?

It’s hard to be more basic than this, but it’s still the smart way to go because it’s going to save you time and money. For openers, start with the basics. You’ll want solid color long-sleeve shirts, button-up shirts, heavy pants, socks, maybe a good, sturdy pair of winter shoes or boots. Don’t try to follow trends, because they change almost daily. Stick with the basics and you can always accessorize in multiple ways.

And stick with the list. Don’t fall prey to impulse items. With the list, you can get in, grab the things you need, and get out.

But once you’ve made the list and before you go shopping, check out the prices online. There are apps that let you comparison shop for the best prices. Better to do the legwork online than running store to store. (1)

What About Coats and Sweaters?

January is the perfect time to start shopping for them. In retail, winter is pretty much over by January, so you’re likely to find some solid deals on coats and sweaters.

Again, do your legwork online. Find out who has the best prices and plan ahead. Set a budget for your shopping and stick to it.

Paper or Plastic?

Cash or card, actually. If you make your list, find the best prices and figure out a rough total, give or take a few dollars, take just enough cash to cover your purchases. This will help make sure you stay on budget.

On the other hand, several credit cards offer a price protection policy, which means if you buy something after the price of the item goes down, you can get a certain amount back. Other cards offer additional savings and deals. (2) If you’re thinking of paying by card, you’ll want to check if any of your cards offer these features.

Aren’t You Forgetting Something?

Accessories! If you’ve had your eye on a pair of gloves or scarf, this is the time to make your move. Winter accessories will be half off at this time of season.

Make versatility the key. You can use these items during fall, winter, and early spring.

Above all, shop for clothes and accessories that will keep you warm.
